Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born November 18, 1985, in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father was a pastor ordained of Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix discovered early that she was gifted to run when she was a student at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Following her initial audition, she placed in the top two at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships, for 200 meters in a mere 10 weeks. Felix, who graduated high school in 2003 signed an agreement with Adidas. After that, she went to an institution called the University of Southern California and pursued a degree in elementary education. The first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics, which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. In 2005, she became the youngest 200-meter world champion during the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007, beating her former Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix took part in the Olympics during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo always finishing in the top three places in all her races.
